This Lunar Eclipse begins with the Sun at 14° Taurus and the Moon at 14° Scorpio. The Lunar Eclipse reveals unhealed emotional wounds and hidden patterns that require attention. While the intensity may feel overwhelming, embracing the process of catharsis can lead to new levels of self-awareness and healing.

Lunar Eclipses occur at the Full Moon when Earth is between the Sun and the Moon. During a Solar Eclipse, the Moon blocks the Sun from view, whereas the Earth’s shadow obscures the Moon for the Lunar Eclipse, often turning it shades of red and orange when visible.

The Full Moon cycle always reveals and fulfills what was seeded during the New Moon. A Lunar Eclipse amplifies this process inspiring major realizations and culminations. At this time, emotions can feel powerful and may even include panic and anxiety. As the Moon rules over the subconscious, we may become more able to examine hidden negative emotions. These emotions can serve as guideposts, leading us to question subconscious patterns. New awarenesses can motivate us to push through fear and open the door to transformational experiences. This process can help us strip away old ways of being and become a more authentic version of ourselves.

As Carl Jung once said, “Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” By turning our attention inward, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, helping us become more self-aware and awaken to our desires and potential.

The Eclipse chart type is a bucket pattern, which can be likened to a satellite dish where all the information pools together and accumulates. The energy is then funneled to the handle. In this case, the Scorpio Moon is the handle, enforcing the need to go deep into our own psyche and honor our needs. The Scorpio Moon can amplify feelings that have been lying dormant in our subconscious, making this an ideal time to release emotional blockages.

All negative emotions and thoughts can be traced to fear, a universal archetypal experience that blocks us from developing into our full potential. If we allow it, fear becomes our greatest internal demon. It is the antithesis of Love. Recognizing when we are in a state of fear is not easy because we often do not look within. We might feel the behavior of others or a situation beyond our control is what throws up the obstacles in our way. Yet on the path of self-awareness, all that matters is what is happening within. The external is a mere reflection that guides us where to look for the source of the darkness that hides our light. If the Lunar Eclipse is correlating to an intensification of fear, then what is needed is to embrace the process of de-identification, which is the gift of Scorpio. Impartial observation, or taking the 10,000-foot view, can help tremendously in seeing fear as a construct of our great imagination.

Another way to achieve clarity is by connecting with others. This period offers a valuable opportunity to engage in cathartic experiences, which enable us to recognize, process, and communicate our emotions in a healthy manner. By granting ourselves permission to express and feel our emotions, we can let go of pent-up feelings. This therapeutic journey helps us attain a deeper comprehension of our needs and ourselves. It also leads us to become free from emotional barriers that might be hindering us. Through catharsis, we can heal, release negative emotions and behaviors, and foster our personal growth.
