The passion factor kicks up a few notches when the Sun enters Scorpio on October 22nd. This part of the annual solar cycle when the Sun travels through the sign of the Scorpion represents a shift in our focus from finding Libran ease in relating to others, to seeking a deeper, more authentic experience in those relationships and with life as a whole.
I did not watch the Republican convention, but did read about it. The so-called Trump phenomenon has been coming for a long time and I would like to share my personal experience about its development. What I saw began in the mid-70’s. It alarmed me then and unfortunately has grown significantly with each subsequent year. […]
My experience reading and listening to how Neptune is described by astrologers has, for the most part, not been a good one. In fact, as I write this article, I am quite concerned that an opportunity to expand our understanding of Neptune that is being provided by the present New Moon could be wasted with superficial, stereotypical and distorted views of this important archetypal force.
As we enter a Mars retrograde period, it may be helpful to take a good look at its possible effects on us as Mars does not retrograde very often. In fact, it only moves in retrograde motion once every two years. No other planet retrogrades this infrequently. However, when it is retrograde, its significance seems can be greater due to both its infrequency as well as to the length of time of the retrograde period. In the 2016 period, Mars will be retrograde for 10 weeks, although the cycle itself is much longer than that.
When I was a young student of astrology, the sign I had the most difficulty describing by far was the sign of Pisces. Many years later, as I teach students, the same difficulty often occurs, even when the student has the Sun, Moon or Ascendant in Pisces. In fact, some of them have an even greater problem than the other students. So, the first thing I say is that Pisces is often hard to describe in words. No one seems to argue with that, but it does remain frustrating and even a bit of a copout. Kimberly Maxwell and I have had many discussions about the nature of the sign of Pisces and you can read some of what we have come up with in her most recent AstroCast. And yet, it is fair to ask why this sign is so hard to describe, even by those who have a first-hand experience of it?

The nature of a "Mystery School", as this type of school has often been referred to in the past, is two-fold.
It is to present to the student a holistic approach that includes both physical and metaphysical models while simultaneously training that student to experience both higher states of consciousness along with the ability to receive and understand higher levels of information.Read More About the Sher Institute Here
