The first exact aspect of April is a waxing first quarter crisis of action square by the Moon to the Sun.  It’s April Fool’s Day! What might that mean? Can we believe it or is it trying to “fool” us into taking actions that are not in our best interest?  April may or may not bring showers, but it is bringing three days with six exact aspects and three days with five exact aspects so our emotions may be in for a rollercoaster ride.  Better buckle up.

04/01/20 – 3:21 am – average Moon square Sun

It’s Hump Day and All Fool’s Day rolled into one.  This waxing first quarter crisis of action square is the first exact aspect of April, indicating that this month is probably a good time to take action on “things.”  What are you working on? Choose your actions wisely; but act now. Tomorrow will support you if you do.

04/02/20 – 1:49 am – average Moon opposite Jupiter

It’s Thursday and this is the first of six exact aspects: four of them oppositions, by the Moon today.  This could be a very emotional day so keep the tissue close at hand. Give yourself and others some space as you “feel” your way through the day.

Following this the Moon will oppose Pluto for the second exact aspect of the day.  Oppositions represent “full Moon” harvest, fruition time. They are the midpoint in every cycle which starts with a conjunction and ends with the next conjunction.  There is an element of choice here as well. Like being on a teeter-totter, do you balance with the person on the other end or do you try to “bounce” them? Whatever you may be working on, is it developing as expected?  Are you ready to move it forward or do you need to go back and change or adjust some aspect of it? The decision is yours to make today. Choose wisely.

04/02/20 – 9:49 am – average Moon sextile Venus

Following this waxing sextile, the third exact aspect of the day, both the Moon and Venus go void-of-course.  The Moon’s will last just over 1 1/2 hours while Venus’ will last just over 24 hours. Set aside any new projects, tasks or ideas for later and focus on what you have been working on.  Don’t go looking for a new relationship; instead consider the one’s you are in or what it is you are looking for or expect in a relationship.

04/02/20 – 11:26 am – average Moon enters Leo

The Moon’s void-of-course is over.  If you have any new tasks, you should get started on them now.  Don’t forget, Venus is still void-of-course.

Following this the Moon will oppose Saturn, then oppose Mars for the fourth and fifth exact aspects of the day.  Two more oppositions. More evaluations to do and choices to make.

04/02/20 – 8:40 pm – accelerating Moon square Uranus

This waxing first quarter crisis of action square is the sixth and final exact aspect by the Moon today.  This can be a good time to reflect on your day; the actions you’ve taken and those you haven’t. Use Uranus’ unique energy to find the “right” solution to whatever problem remains unsolved.

04/03/20 – 10:11 am – Venus enters Gemini

It’s Friday as Venus leaves Her Taurus home and moves into the realm of Mercury.  Do you want to talk of love and desire, or do you just love to talk, to yourself or with others?  The human voice has the power to inspire, to crush and everything in between. Use yours wisely.

04/03/20 – 12:29 pm – fast Moon goes Void-of-Course

Leo may be the fixed fire sign, but the accelerating Moon seems to be in a hurry to get through it and move on to Virgo.  Following a waxing trine to the Sun the Moon goes void-of-course for almost 26 hours. Avoid starting anything new for the rest of the day and, for that matter, until Saturday afternoon when the Moon enters critical Virgo.  Focus on finishing what you’ve been working on.

04/03/20 – 6:15 pm – Mercury conjunct Neptune

This evening and tonight may be the time for dreams; but don’t expect them to manifest into the perfect partner or whatever you desire most tonight as Mercury is also known as the trickster.  Wherever you go or whatever you do tonight, do so with caution and with your eyes and ears wide open.

04/04/20 – 10:09 am – Venus trine Saturn

This is the waxing trine in the current Venus Saturn cycle.  Saturn expects us to live to our highest standard. Venus isn’t just the Goddess of love and beauty, She expects us to hold onto our beliefs in who and what we love and perceive to be beautiful.  It’s Saturday and a good day to take a walk-in beauty and enjoy the things and people we love, even if it must be from a safe social distance,

04/04/20 – 2:18 pm – fast Moon enters Virgo

Do you feel the shift as the Moon moves from fixed fire, I need your attention Leo to mutable earth, dedicated Virgo?  For now, cast a more critical eye on your surroundings and all that you do, see, hear and feel today. Balance your heart and head in your decision-making process.

04/04/20 – 7:45 pm – Jupiter conjunct Pluto

This great conjunction only occurs once every 12 to 13 years.  Conjunctions represent the beginning of a new cycle. While they usually only meet once, this year, due to Jupiter’s retrograde, they will meetup again, June 29 and November 12, for a total of three times this year before they are satisfied that the “right seeds” have been planted.  Pluto represents life and death, endings and new beginnings. What in your life do you want to let go of in symbolic death? What do you want to replace it with, give new life too? Like breaking a habit, it is not a quick or easy task. Make a plan. Dream it. See it. Believe. Achieve it.  This is for the “long haul.”

04/05/20 – 9:38 pm – fast Moon opposite Neptune

It’s Sunday night.  Get out your dream journal.  Start with what dreams you would like to manifest.  Then be prepared to record everything that comes to you this night, whether it is a dream, a feeling, an intuition; however, you perceive it, note.

Next week is important to many as it includes Passover, Good Friday and Easter.  It also looks to be very active as it starts with six exact aspects on Monday, followed by four on Tuesday; including a Super Full Moon, and then five on Wednesday.  Friday brings four more exact aspects and a Mercury void-of-course during the afternoon and evening. Stay safe and well.

Do you ever have one of those days when you suddenly realize you’ve missed something important and then, …you discover you can’t even blame it on Mercury retrograde.  Is anyone else feeling a bit disconnected, of having difficulty focusing or concentrating during these chaotic times? If so, you aren’t alone.

**Last week – 04/01/20 – 10:06 pm – Venus went Out-of-Bounds North

When a planet is out-of-bounds it may express itself to greater extremes, either positively or negatively.  When out-of-bounds North the circumstances will generally involve something new or which pulls you forward. Those most likely to be sensitive to Venus out-of-bounds at this time are those with Sun or Venus in Gemini, one of the other mutable signs, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, or Venus in Taurus or Libra, the two signs She rules.  This out-of-bounds period will last until late afternoon of June 1, that’s 60 days. During this period, She will travel from 28 Taurus 37 to 21 Gemini 50, at which point She will go retrograde adding to the chaotic energies. She will then retrace Her steps back to 14 Gemini 39 before returning in-bounds.

Focus your intentions on the positive aspects of Venus during this time.  Avoid overspending or going to extremes. Even though it may seem “just right” during this time, it may leave you wondering why did I do that when Venus returns in-bounds.  More about Venus out-of-bounds as Her aspects unfold.

04/06/20 – 2:49 am – fast Moon opposite Mercury

What a way to start the week.  This is the first of six exact aspects by the Moon today so allow yourself to feel the energies as the day progresses.  There are five trines coming up, four of them waning or consolidating and one waxing or expanding. With a Moon void-of-course also in the mix, today is best spent focusing on any work-in-progress.  If you have something new to start, wait until this afternoon, after the Moon enters Libra.

Following this the Moon will make a waning trine to Pluto for the second exact aspect of the day.  Note any dreams (especially dark ones or “nightmares”), feelings, sensations and your first thoughts and impressions on the day when waking.

04/06/20 – 6:29 am – fast Moon goes Void-of-Course

Following a waning trine to Jupiter, the third exact aspect of the day, the Moon goes void-of-course for almost eight hours.  For now, stick with your routine or whatever plans you had made. Save any new projects, tasks or requests for later, if you can.

04/06/20 – 2:16 pm – fast Moon enters Libra

With the Moon now in “can’t we all just get along” Libra, you may want to consider including some co-workers on whatever you are working on.  Some “fresh” ideas may be just what is needed to get or keep your project on track.

Following this the Moon will make a waning trine to Saturn and then a waxing trine to Venus for the fourth and fifth exact aspects of the day.  With a waxing trine to out-of-bounds Venus, allow for Her greatest strengths to come out; She is after all, not only the Goddess of love and beauty, but passion and pro-creation.  What are you most passionate about? What are you trying to create?

04/06/20 – 10:20 pm – fast Moon trine Mars

This waning trine is the sixth and final exact aspect of the day.  Both are in air signs so allow for your creative mental “juices” to flow.  Just be sure to mind your tongue and think before speaking.

04/07/20 – 11:50 am – Mars square Uranus

This is the waning third quarter crisis of consciousness square in their cycle.  Embrace the power of your unique individualism. Are you being the best, purest you that you can be?  Be open to new insights and inspirations from the Universe. Both are in fixed signs, so the ability to focus can be your superpower today.

04/07/20 – 2:28 pm – Mercury sextile Pluto

This is the waxing sextile in their cycle.  With Mercury in mutable water Pisces, allow the energy of Pluto, Lord of the underworld, to shed some of his light on the shadow areas of your mind and clear away those points of confusion and quiet the “chatter.”.

04/07/20 – 7:20 pm – Mercury sextile Jupiter

This is the waxing sextile in their cycle.  Use Jupiter’s expansive energy to “expand your mind” in search of solutions to any problems you have encountered with projects you are working on.

04/07/20 – 7:35 pm – fast Perigee-Syzygy Moon opposite Sun

That’s the astronomical name for what is more commonly known as a Super Full Moon.  This occurs when there is a full Moon when the Moon is closest to the Earth. This should be the brightest full Moon of the year as it is the full Moon closest to the Earth in 2020.  It is also known as the “Pink” Moon as it is the time of year when flowers start to bloom. With the Sun in Aries, this Full Moon is at 18 Libra 43. The Moon will be full as She rises in the east at sunset.  For short term projects, what you started around the new Moon of March 24, should now be ready to be “harvested.” For longer term “things,” this full Moon may relate back to things that began around the time of the new Moon of October 8, 2018, which was at 15 Libra.  From this point forward, is a time to apply any finishing touches to your work as you also make ready for the next “seed” to plant with the new Moon on Earth Day, April 22.

04/08/20 – 5:17 am – fast Moon square Pluto

This waning third quarter crisis of consciousness square is the first of four such squares by the Moon today and the first of five exact aspects by the Moon.  It’s “Hump Day,” a day for action on consolidating and finishing your work-in-progress, so better “hit the ground running.” Note any dreams or insights and all sensations or feelings on waking.

04/08/20 – 5:50 am – fast Moon goes Void-of-Course

Following a waning third quarter crisis of consciousness square to Jupiter, the second exact aspect of the day, the Moon will go void-of-course for almost 7 1/2 hours.  Stick with your routine or whatever you have planned to start your day. With a waning aspect, turn Jupiter’s normally expansive energy around and use it to help consolidate whatever you are working on.

04/08/20 – 1:17 pm – fast Moon enters Scorpio

With the Moon now in fixed water Scorpio, draw on your memories of what’s worked in the past and find ways to adapt them to help you keep things moving forward.  If you have any new projects or tasks that you’ve set aside, you should be good to go, or at least to get them started now.

04/08/20 – 3:03 pm – fast Moon square Saturn

This waning third quarter crisis of consciousness square is the third exact aspect today.  Be sure you are following all instructions for whatever you have been working on. Saturn doesn’t demand perfection, but He does expect you to be honest, to follow the instructions and not take shortcuts.

Following this the Moon will oppose Uranus for the fourth exact aspect of the day.  It’s late so you may want to take some time to reflect on your day, on what you have accomplished and what you still need to do this week.

04/08/20 – 11:41 pm – fast Moon square Mars

This is the fourth waning third quarter crisis of consciousness square and the fifth and final exact aspect of the day.  If you are still up, consider using the night energy of the Moon and Mars readiness for action to help you plan out the rest of your week.

04/09/20 – 1:53 pm – Venus enters Her shadow

Venus is at 5 Gemini 20; the beginning of the “shadow” and the point at which She will end Her retrograde on June 24.  During a planet’s first pass through the “shadow,” “things” may come up that will come back during the retrograde phase and need to be “fixed” during the third and final pass.  With Venus in mutable air, talkative Gemini, mind what you say, especially to loved ones or when discussing potential contracts or financial dealings for any mistakes or misstatements now will most likely come back on you later.

With Venus in Her shadow, don’t go looking for romance.  Chances are it won’t turn out to your liking. Instead of “looking for love,” think about what you want in a relationship, what you have to offer and whether the two might be mutually exclusive.  If you are in a relationship, use this time to strengthen it or, if it’s on rocky grounds, perhaps consider what part you play in that and what is best for you both. Talk it out before you act.

04/10/20 – 12:35 pm – fast Moon trine Mercury

Following this waning trine, both go void-of-course.  Both are relatively short with the Moon’s lasting just one hour while Mercury’s will last just over nine hours.  It shouldn’t be a problem to set aside any “new” projects until after the Moon enters optimistic Sagittarius. With Mercury void-of-course for most of the rest of today and Venus out-of-bounds and in Her shadow, choose your words very carefully.  Or perhaps, if you can, consider a “vow of silence” until after Mercury enters Aries.

04/10/20 – 1:35 pm – fast Moon enters Sagittarius

The Moon’s void-of-course is over.  It’s Friday afternoon and you still have time if you have any new items to get started this week.  Just remember that Mercury is void-of-course and Venus is out-of-bounds and, in Her shadow, so proceed with caution.

04/10/20 – 9:48 pm – Mercury enters Aries

It’s Friday night.  With Mercury now if cardinal fire Aries, if you must speak your piece, don’t do it where anyone else can hear you.  Chances are the requirement for everyone to stay home will still be in effect. That’s probably a good thing, not just because of the coronavirus, but with Venus out-of-bounds and in Her shadow, now is not the time to go looking for romance and with Mercury in Aries, words may be spoken in anger or without thinking..

04/11/20 – 4:48 pm – Mercury sextile Saturn

This is the waxing sextile in their cycle.  This cycle represents the time to work on any “new things” started around the time of their conjunction, three months ago.  With any writing project or when speaking, whether it be to one person, 100 or thousands, be accurate and clear. Saturn expects nothing less.

04/12/20 – 4:46 am – decelerating Moon goes Void-of-Course

Following a waning trine to the Sun, the Moon goes void-of-course for over 12 hours.  It’s another “consolidating” aspect. Work on your “spring cleaning.” Or perhaps, give yourself a break today.  Finish binge watching that series you started a while back.

04/12/20 – 5:05 pm – average Moon enters Capricorn

With the Moon now in cardinal earth business-oriented Capricorn, you might want to take some time to plan your week ahead as it will offer opportunities to start some new things.  What do you want or need to start? You need a plan. Make it a doable one.

04/12/20 – 8:14 pm – average Moon goes Out-of-Bounds South

Each time the Moon goes out-of-bounds it will last a little bit longer and go just a bit farther.  Get used to it. This time the Moon’s “eccentric” behavior will last for36 hours. Being out-of-bounds south, expect that things from the past or that, at first, feel more comfortable may come up.  Just don’t expect the “comfortable” feeling to last for there is always the likelihood of some “discomfort” when the Moon is out-of-bounds.

Next week also looks to be a mixed bag of potential, rewards and/or challenges, depending on our actions or lack thereof.  There will be five exact aspects on Tuesday and six exact aspects on Wednesday followed by no exact aspects on Thursday. To set up the weekend, the Sun will go void-of-course on Friday as they prepare to move into Taurus on Sunday morning.  The weekend will end with the Moon going void-of-course later Sunday afternoon. Be safe. Stay well.

It’s been a powerful Super Moon (March 9th) so far…also interesting it is so near Venus conjunct Uranus. It feels like really big things are happening on every front.

  2. James Schultz says:

Here are the basic astrological details of His Royal Highness, Prince of Cambridge. Weight 8 lbs. 6 oz., according to news reports, the heaviest future King by birth weight in 100 years of more. Correct birth time is July 22, 2013, 4:24 pm, London, England.

A true “cusper” with Sun 29 Cancer 58. Moon 28 Capricorn 17, which means that HRH was born less than 3 hours before the full Moon at 0 Aquarius. Birth ascendant is 27 Scorpio 10 and his birth M/C is 20 Virgo 36. He was born with 7 of the 10 primary points in Cardinal signs and 6 of them in water signs. He has a Grand Water Trine of Mars 6 Cancer and Jupiter 5 Cancer trining Saturn 5 Scorpio and trining Neptune 5 Pisces. He also has a Cardinal T-square with Mercury 13 Cancer opposing Pluto 9 Capricorn and both squaring Uranus 12 Aries. He has none of the 10 primary points in an Air sign and 3 of them are retrograde. 3 retrogrades is the second most common number, 2 being the most common. Born with Mars out-of-bounds north might he be a rather precocious child, to say the least.

  3.' Iolé says:

What a time to be born for the new prince-princess in England!
Leo sun, Cancer planets: care for the family = the Kingdom, Aquarius Moon- we need open minds in the future!

  4.' Dane Sullivan says:

    Hey Jim,
Source: Astronomical Phenomena For the Year 2013, prepared by US Naval Observatory and Her Majesty’s Nautical Almanac which defines lunar eclipse time as Moon reaching centermost point of its journey thorough the shadow cast by the earth, and solar eclipses timed for maximum obscuration — typically different from time of simple conjunction. However, I note the Rosicrucian Ephemeris, citing JPL and the US Naval Observatory call it at 5:21. I’m betting there’s yet another computation out there.

  5. Jim Schultz says:

Hi Dane, thank you for your comment. Not sure what your source for the eclipse time is. I use Solar Fire 8 for the dates and times I post. The time is based on the exact conjunction of the Sun and Moon which is 5:28 pm PDT. The NASA eclipse site shows a time of 5:26 pm PDT.

  6.' Dane Sullivan says:

Probably just an editorial slip, but believe the May 9 eclipse doesn’t happen until 5:55 at 19 Taurus 33. Enjoy your observations!

  7.' andy says:

    “01/18/13 – 12:56 am – Mercury conjunct Sun 28 Aquarius 26”
    Sun still in Capricorn

  8.' Donna says:

Oh boy! I am not an astrology student, however, I do enjoy reading your article every week. I have picked up the tiniest sliver of what is being discussed and from what I am able to glean, July sounds like it has the potential to be rather challenging. As a Taurus, I was happy to have read about the Mercury retrograde before it happens! I will be carefully watching my “p’s & q’s ” throughout the month and refer back to the entirety of the article – changes are a-comin’ for sure.
    Thanks for your work!
