During the past 30 years an important paradigm shift has been occurring in the way astrology is understood and practiced. A new form of astrological practice is emerging that unites astrology, psychology, and the therapeutic process and which is only now beginning to grow and be accepted. In fact, I regard the two fields of knowledge as essentially one field and can easily imagine this principle becoming more accepted in the future. Personally I have used astrology in my therapeutic practice for many years and in the last 10 years have had the good fortune of meeting many other therapists who are also including astrology in their work with clients.

The Nature of Astrological Counseling

Sessions with me last 60-70 minutes and will begin with a client expressing what they are seeking from the consultation. Some clients may want a single session to explore their natal chart and to cover certain specific matters. Others, however, may be seeking a deeper process. By deeper process I am referring to the process that reveals the layers of meaning of one’s nature indicated by the chart. To understand one’s chart deeply, the layers of our own being must be revealed one step at a time so that it can be understood. Astrological counseling can be a useful technique for this type of person. As in any counseling, the process requires the development of a trusting relationship between the client and the counselor. Yes, the astrological counselor provides information pertaining to a person’s chart, but the dialogue process enables the client to both understand what is being expressed and, more importantly, how the general astrological principles apply to them personally. But, if a client desires to move into much deeper levels, it becomes more necessary to build a trusting relationship with one’s counselor. For this to happen a ‘ground’ based on trust and understanding, needs to be created and this takes time. This ‘ground’ is what is necessary for the deeper levels to be explored safely and to discover how the insights gained can be applied to a person’s life.

Secondly, but even more important, is the fact that the dialogue between client and counselor creates an environment where one can make many discoveries. It’s not just the input from the counselor that matters. What happens is that the dialogue environment helps the client make discoveries that could not happen otherwise.

Compatibility is not as simple as it may seem since relationships are seldom black and white. I have an extensive background as a therapist counseling  married and unmarried couples and families.  Astrology can be a very helpful tool for developing greater understanding of one’s partner or family member. This is often a neglected factor and therefore can be surprisingly beneficial process in which one can engage.             2 sessions = $200

            3 sessions = $280

            4 sessions = $360

Fees beyond 4 sessions will be discussed with the client when it is appropriate.
