James Hopson
James Hopson has a rich background in astrology, philosophy, yoga and medicine. His educational pursuits have been multi-faceted as he received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration, then lived in a monastery for 7 years and finally got his Masters degree in Oriental Medicine in 2002. His writing and practice has incorporated this background where it is applied his understanding of health and disease. Part of his development occurred at the age of 28 when he developed cancer and was able to reverse it along with several other health complications through diet and nutrition.
His illness in 1996 led him to begin studying astrology where he immediately began to realize that there was a valid connection between medicine and the ancient study of astrology. As he developed further understanding of the potential importance of this link, he began a full-time study of astrology in its relation to health and disease.
For the last 9 years he has incorporated medical astrology as a basic part of his practice. His holistic approach incorporates an understanding of working with both the mind and the body.
In addition, James works with the mind by using Neuro-Feedback. This tool has been practiced for over 40 years and has been found to help the brain learn new patterns which will then affect our behavior. With the advent of advanced research techniques and the subsequent creation of new software, the usage of neuro-feedback has been growing enormously for the past 5-10 years. The principle of how it works can be briefly described in this way: it acts as a mirror so that the brain can see itself and in doing so, is able to correct itself. One of the great benefits of using this tool is that is can promote greater self-awareness and in doing so help a person live a happier more joyful life. This learning tool also helps create balance in the brain which has been shown to help reduce a variety of symptoms and disorders such as ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, memory loss, senility as well as issues helping to restore communication in the brain after traumatic brain injuries.
Along with astrology, James incorporates the use of the GDV (a medical grade Kirlian camera which is used today in Russian hospitals) in his health consultations. This tool assists James to help people understand how health, diet and nutrition are affecting their bodies and what it will take to develop and maintain a healthy state. Finally, he also uses a SCENAR system that helps patients deal with issues of pain, swelling and inflammation. For more information you can go to his website: www.inspiringhealth.net
James is a graduate of the Sher Astrological Institute and is a writer for its newsletter and website.
