Welcome to the Sher Astrological Institute! We are offering astrology classes at all levels of experience and knowledge as well as a variety of consultations in the Los Angeles area.

In the past 40 years, astrology has been developing in an entirely new direction. The previous emphasis on prediction is slowly giving way to an understanding that humans can have an effect on their lives to the degree that they are Self-aware. Perhaps G. I Gurdjieff was correct when he told his students that man is asleep with only the potential of awakening. And how do we awaken? By becoming more and more aware of ourselves, as ‘Beings.’ As we do this, we see that we are operating in life out of our programming and that this can change. By becoming Self-aware and by also seeing our programming AS programming, we become motivated to change the unconscious patterns and seek new ways of living that is freer from the negative programming of our past.

So, what does astrology have to do with this? When we begin to increase in Self-awareness, it allows the natal promise of our chart to come alive and begin operating in the most positive of ways. This is because our chart is actually a map of many possible levels of Being. It actually is not static. The birth map is quite dynamic and ironically, the more we are able to make choices, the higher the level the chart will be to operate in a more positive way.

Why Study Astrology
